For Aida Kostuck, community service didn’t begin with running for Council. It began at home, in a family where helping neighbours was simply part of everyday life.

That commitment to service continued through a career that required careful attention to detail, sound judgement and collaboration. Working for a law firm, Aida reviewed corporate merger documents and patent and trademark applications to ensure they were complete and correct. She also spent five years in the banking industry as part of a team reading and proofreading financial regulations and legislation.

Aida first ran for Council in 2018. Since then, she has continued to serve the community she calls home.

Now she’s asking Ward 2 residents for the opportunity to serve them on Council.

As I’ve spoken with residents across Ward 2, I’ve heard what matters to them. These are some of the priorities we share.

Community safety

Fiscal accountability and property taxes

Housing affordability

Youth, seniors and accessibility

Growth and infrastructure

“I enjoy helping people, I listen carefully, and I understand that serving a community also means being prepared to make difficult decisions and stand behind them.”

Listening matters, and so does what happens after we listen.

Good representation means understanding the issues, asking questions, considering the information available and doing the work required to make responsible decisions. It also means being accessible to residents and accountable for the decisions Council makes.
