What matters in Ward 2

What I’m hearing from residents:

As I’ve spoken with residents across Ward 2, I’ve heard what matters to them. These are some of the priorities we share.

Community safety

Our growing community needs safe roads, neighbourhoods and public spaces. I will work with York Regional Police and the Town on traffic concerns, pedestrian safety and policing needs.

Fiscal accountability and property taxes

Fiscal accountability and responsible spending are important to me. Council must use tax dollars wisely while ensuring residents receive the services they deserve.

Housing affordability

Young people and families should have opportunities to make East Gwillimbury their home too. I support more affordable options for home ownership and rental housing.

Youth, seniors and accessibility

I want to see more opportunities for youth and seniors to participate in community life, along with inclusive programs and activities for people with disabilities.

Growth and infrastructure

As East Gwillimbury grows, Council and Town staff must make smart infrastructure investments to support our growing population. We must enforce the bylaws that protect our neighbourhoods and preserve the heritage that makes our Town special.

These aren’t the only issues that matter to Ward 2 residents. I want to continue hearing about the concerns, ideas and experiences of people in Queensville and Sharon throughout the campaign.
